By the age of 22 Brian Wilson had written over 20 top 40 hits. They filled the air with wonderful melodies and vocal harmonies and were a precursor to the incredible music he would create in later years. As with so many creative people he had a dark side that had started with the treatment he recieved at his fathers hands and later with the drugs he would take to fuel his day to day life. In his later years he would manage to piece together his better days and once again we could see and hear the maestro at work. At the age of 82 he left us with a vast library of magical sounds that will keep filling the air and remind us of one of the 20th centuries greatest songwriters.

When I heard of Brians passing I had already created my remix of one of Kara’s samples but could not resist the urge to take another example of her beautiful vocals and lyrics to pay homage to the wonderful music of Brian Wilson. The mix is full of simple motifs and discordant riffs which are my way of saying thank you to Brian for giving me so much great music and wonderful ideas over the years.
